Information about Kuna Yala (San Blas)

A dreamed adventure comes true! Sail the beautiful Panamanian Caribbean in the comfort of a luxury Catamaran or Sailboat.

San Blas Province, home of the Kuna Indians, consists of 365 islands grouped together in the Caribbean Sea. The majority of the Kuna Indian population is concentrated in just a few of these islands making the vast majority of them readily to be discovered. You will find an uninhabited paradise with white sandy beaches, crystal clear waters and coral reefs waiting to be revealed.

During the journey, you and your companions will enjoy yourselves while snorkeling, diving, and fishing, sun tanning on a deserted beach or just relaxing on the boat deck as you cruise your way into new breathtaking landscapes.

Today's Kuna Indians inhabit the islands in the same way their ancestors did: trading coconuts and fishing for crabs, lobsters and snappers aboard their graceful hand carved wooden canoes completed with patchwork sails, called "Cayucos”.

Touristic Activities in Kuna Yala

Trips to the inhabited islands are scheduled in every adventure. You will enjoy the hospitality of these Indians, who will be more than eager to sell you some of their handcrafts and famous “Molas”, pose for pictures, and will be willing to share their very well preserved culture with you.

The Yachts are private boats owned and operated by their skippers, as contractors with Yacht Brokers International Services (YBIS). Monohulls (regular sailboats) are recommended for the true sailing enthusiast who enjoys "close hauled into the teeth of the wind". Catamarans and Trimarans in the other hand are for lazy downwind sails, sunning on the trampoline, and they offer plenty of room, level sailing and speed. Click here for a list of our boats

Charters include rental of the boat with Skipper (and first mate or hostess on cats), fuel, hard bottom dinghy with 15 hp outboard, two seat Kayak (on some boats), snorkeling gear and fishing rods and lines.

All meals on board are also included (catch of the day, best meat from town, fresh fruits and vegetables, one meal of lobsters and one meal of giant crab included) as well as all drinks (Chilean red & white wines, local beers, dark rum, purified water and soft drinks).

Recommended groups range from 4 and up. The idea is to have the whole Yacht for you and your group, although reservations for couples can also be arranged. Expeditions can range from 3 to 14 days.

Pearl Travel packages will include airport pickup and transfers to your hotel, 4 night/day reservations at a five star hotel in Panama City, round trip Panama City – San Blas tickets, transfers to/from the regional airport, and transfers to Tocumen International Airport at the end of your journey. Extra nights can also be arranged in advanced in case you may want to visit the city of Panama, book one of our daily tours or hit other destinations.
