The Magical Pearl Islands Adventure package includes 4 nights at the Beautiful Hacienda del Mar Resort located on the Pearl Islands Archipelago, 4 nights at the Sheraton Panama Five Star Hotel in Panama City, a partial transit through the Panama Canal, a Panama City Tour, a visit to the Chagres River and the Embera Indians Community, a world class fishing adventure, a diving or snorkeling excursion, a Night Safari, a 4-Wheel Motor island exploring, local airfare and transportation.
Day 1: Arrive at Panama
Airport pickup and transfer to the Sheraton Panama Hotel will be arranged for you. Check in and get ready for your Panama adventure.
Day 2: Partial Panama Canal Transit
The Panama Canal partial tour starts with an early morning pick up at your hotel in Panama City for a 15 minute drive to the Port of Balboa in the Pacific side of the canal, where you will board a comfortable passenger ferry where breakfast will be available buffet style. You will first sail under the bridge of the Americas. Northbound on the Panama Canal, the first stop is at Miraflores locks and later Pedro Miguel locks. The boat will be raised a total of 26 meters and sail below the centennial bridge before entering Gatun Lake and the famous Gailard Cut. The tour includes bilingual guide/narrator and transfer back to the Sheraton Panama Hotel. (B)
Day 3: Panama City Tour - Transfer and Airfare to San Jose Island
Half-day morning Panama City tour includes a visit to the ruins of Old Panama and Casco Viejo (the old city compound) which dates from the late 1600's. A bilingual guide will describe the events in history leading up to the eventual movement of the capital city to its present location.
After the tour, you will be transferred to Albrook local airport for your flight to San José Island. Representatives of Hacienda del Mar Resort will be greeting you at the Island for transfer and check in. (B)
Day 4: World Class Fishing Tour
We have planned a fishing activity for you and your company for this day. The waters of San Jose abound in tropical game fish, and are considered-among the best deep sea fishing grounds in the world. Never do San Jose game-seekers return empty-handed. 16 black marlin world records have been conquered in these waters. Marlin, large Pacific sailfish, tuna, wahoo, amberjack, cobera and red snapper, corvina and mackerel make of this place a paradise for fishermen and divers. Overnight at Hacienda del Mar Resort. Day 5: Diving or Snorkeling Tour
San Jose offers great opportunities to see manta rays, turtles and game fish with excellent water visibility while snorkeling. A scuba tour will allow you to dive in a specific place to observe rock formations and all class of abundant submarine fauna. Make your selection according to your level of expertise. Overnight at Hacienda del Mar Resort. (B,L)
Day 6: Relaxing day and Night Safari
The sixth day we will give you the whole day to relax on one of the 57 splendorous coral white, ebony black and radiant gold beaches that surround San Jose Island or to take on any other adventure or activity that you desire. In the night, get ready for a Night Safari, where you will be able to spot white tail deer, white brocket deer, wild boars, dwarfed ant-eaters, boas, wild rabbits, spiny rats, owls, and others, all in their natural habitats. Day 7: 4-Wheel motor crossing and transfer to Panama City
In the morning, take a wheel motor crossing excursion through mountains and river crossings where you will have a change to see the most exotic and virgin jungles in San Jose Island. After your noon checkout, you will be ready for your flight back to Panama City, where someone will greet you for transfer back to the Sheraton Panama Hotel. Take the afternoon free for relaxing or shopping. (B)
Day 8: Chagres River and the Embera Indians
After breakfast visit a tropical rainforest in its purest form. This tour leaves Panama City at 8:00 AM and begins with a ride in a "piragua" (a native boat) following the route commonly used by the Indians for their daily transport along the Chagres River. Then hike through the forest with a local indigenous guide and an expert guide who will explain the botanical aspects of the trail and the culture of this authentic Chocoe-Embera village. In the village members of the tribe will share their culture through dances, rituals, food, etc. You will have the opportunity to partake in "jagua" body painting with vegetable ink. Arrival back to Panama City and the Sheraton Panama Hotel is estimated at 4:30 PM. (B,L)
Day 9: Depart Panama
Hotel pickup and transfer to the International Airport will be arranged for you at the time of your convenience. (B)
